Bidwriting.com attends this year’s Venture Day at Cranfield School of Management.

On Thursday 22 September 2016, Cranfield University held their annual one-day conference and networking event for entrepreneurs.

Cranfield Venture Day is a one-day annual conference and networking event for entrepreneurs and those interested in entrepreneurial performance.  The event comprised keynote addresses by leading entrepreneurs, exposure to the latest research from Cranfield and a networking zone.

Now in its 8th year, the event attracts some of the most ambitious and innovative business minds across a variety of sectors. The aim of the day was to bring together networks of CEOs, senior managers, alumni, supporters and advocates in order to:

  • Share thought leadership in the areas of business growth and entrepreneurship
    Provide practical insights from experience and from experts in dealing with growth and entrepreneurship
  • Inspire new ways of thinking and working in business
  • Create new conversations between researchers, practitioners, CEOs and experts.
The inspirational keynotes were:

Jozsef Varadi, CEO and founder of Wizzair
Wizzair is a low cost airline that has been growing since it started in 2004 to a stage where it is now flying some 21million passengers per year and becoming a dominant player.

The panel included:
In addition there was a panel chaired by Guy Rigby of Smith and Williamson that comprised Robert Wright, a serial aviation entrepreneur and founder non-exec of Wizzair; Karim Sekkat a corporate finance expert now running Oxford Engineering; Tim Jones Chair and shareholder of Treatt PLC a food ingredients company and Debra Charles of Novacroft which provides the backend to numerous rail companies to manage smartcards.
